Gutter Cleaning & Gutter Repair in Portland, OR — We Fix Gutters
Gutters are part of the roof system. When they clog, leak, or sag, water goes behind the fascia and into the walls instead of down the drain. We clean gutters out, reseal what leaks, and rehang what sags — so the system drains the way it should. FixRoof.fast is a website of Restoration LLC, licensed Oregon general contractor CCB #261557.
What Gutter Cleaning Includes
Portland gutters fill with a mix that drains slowly and rots in place: fir needles, maple leaves, seed pods, and grit washed off the shingles. A gutter cleaning visit clears the full run by hand and by scoop, flushes the line so we can see the water actually moving, and checks every downspout outlet — a clean gutter with a blocked outlet still overflows in the next storm. Debris is bagged and taken away, not dumped in your beds.
Cleaning also puts eyes on the system. While the gutters are open we can see standing water that shows a slope problem, seams that have started to weep, and fasteners pulling out of the fascia. Catching those during a cleaning is how small gutter repairs stay small, instead of becoming fascia rot and a roof repair at the eave.
Gutter Repairs We Make
When we fix gutters, the work is mechanical and specific. Leaking seams, corners, and end caps are cleaned out and resealed. Sagging runs are rehung on sound fasteners with the slope corrected so water moves toward the outlet instead of pooling in the middle. Sections that are rusted through or crushed are cut out and replaced. Outlet connections are refitted so the gutter and the downspout work as one line.
Every repair ends with a water test: we run water through the system and watch it drain. If the problem is below the outlet — a clogged, crushed, or disconnected downspout — that is covered on our downspout repair page.

Gutters Overflowing?
Overflow in a Portland storm means the system cannot drain. We find out why and fix it.
Call (503) ROOFERSSigns Your Gutters Need Attention
Most gutter problems announce themselves during rain. Watch for these.
Water Over the Edge
Sheets of water pouring over the gutter in a storm mean a clog, a slope problem, or a blocked downspout. All three are fixable, and none of them fix themselves.
Drips at Seams & Corners
Steady dripping from a corner or seam long after rain stops means the seal has failed. Resealing is a small job — until the water behind it rots the fascia board.
Sagging or Pulling Away
A gutter that bows in the middle or gaps away from the fascia is losing its fasteners, often because standing water made it heavy. Rehanging restores the slope and the drainage.
Gutter Cleaning & Repair Questions
Straight answers from a licensed Oregon contractor.
How often should gutters be cleaned in Portland?
At least twice a year. Fir needles and leaves fill Portland gutters fast — once after the fall leaf drop and once in spring covers the heavy seasons for many homes. Houses under large firs may need it more often.
Can clogged gutters really leak into my house?
Yes. When a gutter clogs, water has nowhere to go but over the edge — behind the fascia, into the soffit, and down inside exterior walls. We have traced many leaks blamed on the roof to gutters that simply could not drain.
My gutters are clean but still overflow. What is wrong?
Overflow with clean gutters usually means the slope is off, a section is sagging and holding water, or a downspout is clogged below the outlet. Those are repair items, not cleaning items, and they are part of what we fix on a gutter service visit.
Do you replace damaged gutter sections?
Yes. Seams, corners, and end caps that are still sound get resealed. Sections that are rusted through, crushed, or torn away from the fascia get replaced, rehung with the correct slope, and water-tested before we leave.
